International Conference on Community Development (ICCD) is an annual conference held since 2012, when the Association of Muslim Community in ASEAN (AMCA) was established. In 2025, the topic of the 11th ICCD is “Empowering Communities for a Resilient Future: Innovations, Sustainability, and Inclusivity”. This conference explores strategies to empower communities through innovative solutions, sustainable practices, and inclusive approaches. It aims to foster collaboration among academics, practitioners, and policymakers to build resilient societies that can adapt to global challenges. It invites scholars across fields of study. They are; Dr. Dang Nang Hoa, a faculty member of Faculty of Sociology – Social Work – Southeast Asian Studies, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Vietnam who studies a lot about communities in ASEAN context; Dr. Rimajon Sotlikova, a faculty member of Webster University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Prof. Dr. Kareem Abdul Waheed, a professor in School of Management and Entrepreneurship from Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, India; Dr. Syed Marwan, Head of Programme for PhD at the Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF), within the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Malaysia.
Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMCOU) is the ideal partner for hosting the 11th ICCD. Its strong academic focus on social responsibility, public administration and community engagement makes it the perfect venue. HCMCOU is strategically located in Vietnam’s most dynamic city, offering direct exposure to real-world community issues. The university has extensive experience in international collaboration, with established partnerships across Asia and beyond. Its hybrid learning infrastructure guarantees inclusive participation, both onsite and online. In addition, this conference is well- organised as it is also supported by the co-hosts from various universities such as; University of Muhammadiyah Sorong (UNAMIN), University of Muhammadiyah Jember, Muria Kudus University, University of Bhineka PGRI, University of Muhammadiyah Jambi, University of Muhammadiyah Kupang, Islamic University of Jakarta.
The selected papers are presented in the parallel session and will be published in AMCA Journals: AMCA Journal of Community Development (AJCD), AMCA Journal of Science and Technology (AJST), AMCA Journal of Religion and Society (AJRS), AMCA Journal of Education & Behavioral Change (AJEB).
